  2. Paul,
HMU man you need a mini split A/C for your garage / studio! Think of all those delicate eardrums you will be saving when the silent goodness of that thing kicks on and you and Kyle aren't dying out there when its like 110 degrees outside. We could mount it on a rack similar to how you have the mics etc. set up.

  3. I often lay my pc down to mitigate this problem. Why don’t motherboard manufacturers just “flip” “rewire” pci express ports… wouldnt seem like it would be that hard to me.

  4. Hot air does not actually rise, denser cooler air displaces hot air and pushes it up

  5. the background on arctic panthers monitor is what I have on my PC! go calvin and hobbes!

  6. Weird that your overwatch experience is cropped on that screen. I'm running it on the Asus PG348q 34" 21:9 at 100hz and it doesnt do that for me.

  7. I would guess that if the other way and the system is off dust will easily get into the chips and components adding more heat whereas the way they are now most parts are protected an to just leave the back plate to collect idle dust and easily cleaned…

  8. Probe Paul, you have a Tesla Powerwall, why don't you have A/C in your studio/garage? (psst, the story is you need it for controlled testing 😉

  10. The graphics card cooler thing always made sense to me because the fans blow onto the heatsink. I don't imagine someone that has an air cooled CPU would want their graphics card fighting the cooler for air, and I doubt the hotter air coming off of the back of a heatsink would do the card much good.

Though reading the comments about why it was actually done is interesting.

  11. best way to counter GPU sag is to buy a EVGA silent edition, its got built in sag support.

  12. I have another thought on the orientation of the graphics cards. Like you said and like common sense hotter air rises up. Generally and of course especially in the 'closed' cases. So since the fans suck air axially onto the cooler and through the heatsink it would be most profitable in terms of cooling if the coolest air possible is beeing sucked in. That is why i think it makes the most sense that way because when the hot air rises in your case the cooler air would be located more towards the bottom of the case, providing more efficient cooling. What i find more conserning is that to the contrary of a blower style cooler the most aftermarket gpu coolers exhaust the air through the side of the card into the case instead of exhausting it through the back.

  13. :O lol fiber in your home and only 122 megabits? I've got a 11 $ / month contract and have a utp cable connection and a 850 Mbps download and 500 up speed! check here https://ibb.co/i17DuT

  14. Same here with frontier fios. 150/150. Love them. Stable and clean.

  15. I've been looking at ITX cases but they all are either too small (for my graphics card) or just look like utter shite, any suggestions as to something that will house a 1070 founders edition that doesn't look like shite and that doesn't take up a huge amount of space?

    Thanks.

  16. The cooler is not mounted on the bottom, it's is mounted on the left side of the card.

  17. Hey Paul! Does Ryzen play better with dual channel memory or single channel memory? My budget allows for only 8gb of ram right now. So should I pick up a 1x8gb stick or 2 4 gb kits?

  18. Hi Paul, love the channel, thanks for all the great content. I wanted to know your thoughts on the multiple audio out jacks featured on most motherboards; do many speaker setups require so many 3.5 jacks for multi-channel audio? In most home theater setups wouldn't HDMI out to an AV receiver make more sense, feature higher quality and more features such as Dolby / DTS bit streaming compatibility?

Maybe the smart phone industry has gone too far with removing the 3.5 mini jack, but could the DIY PC industry stand to lose a few ports…

  19. Het dude… I love all your vids… Wanna find out… What experience, qualification, equipment and capital do u need to be a great youtube techie like yourself and jayztwocents etc… In south africa there really isnt a niche for this… Pls gimme some advice

  20. [Question] What system tools do you use/prefer. I'm in the need of monitoring my system data and would spend time googling it but… I procrastinate.

Also I'm in the market for a good video editing and streaming software. What are your preferences?

  21. Apple Mac Pro towers have the inverted style mother board (aka logic board) and it flips the GPU's to be the "right" way up 🙂
